My great grandparents were Henry E. Ray and Ellie McGill Ray, I have reason to believe they lived in Schley County up till his death in 1922.
They were married in Marion County, GA in December 1897.
As of September 1918 when Henry and his oldest sons registered with the Selective Service Board for WWl, they lived in Elleville, GA as farmers.
In the 1920 Census, they were living in Patton Hill, Schley County, GA.
One of the Ray family sons died on active duty in the US Army in February 1920 of Influenza at the Fort McPherson Army Hospital near Atlanta. Records show that Henry Ray of Schley County was the next of kin.
A family bible records Henry's death in 1922 and we think he is buried in that County. Ellie moved around with her children and was in Upson County in the 1940 Census up till her death in 1955.
Any info on the Ray family would be appreciated. I am very interested to locate his grave site as there might be 2 other children with him who died as infants.
Thanks, Mike Caldwell
